Formcentric Connect for FirstSpirit: bridging the gap to your CMS
The corporate website needs a new contact form. What’s the best approach? In a FirstSpirit context, the answer is usually: “Well, it depends on the project.”
For editing teams, this is where the challenge really starts. One member of the team is stumped by the fact that the CMS doesn’t have the right field for the HTML embed code. So she starts an IT ticket. Her colleague does manage to input the code easily copied out of Formcentric, but he only got there with several minutes of tab hopping: find the form in Formcentric, copy the code, switch back to the CMS, then find the right place to paste it.
Many editing teams repeat this process every single day. And not because they actually enjoy the extra work, but because the CMS and form manager are literally not on the same page.
Why the manual process is a day-to-day pain point
Although Formcentric makes generating and copying embed codes especially easy, the manual part of the process creates two obvious hurdles when working in the CMS.
- Technical dependencies: If the FirstSpirit project doesn’t have an HTML field available in the right place, form authors can’t place the code themselves. So they have to go and bother their developer colleagues.
- Constant system switching: Even if the code can be inserted in the CMS, there’s still an awkward break in the workflow. Editing staff have to keep toing and froing between Formcentric and the CMS for every form – copying codes and placing them by hand.
How this all changes with Formcentric Connect
Formcentric Connect is an extension that integrates Formcentric directly into FirstSpirit. The idea is simple: form authors should be able to embed forms on their own: quickly and without technical barriers – and regardless of how the CMS project happens to be configured under the hood.
In practice, this now looks as follows.
- Direct access in the CMS: Working in ContentCreator or SiteArchitect, editing teams simply select the form they want to work on from their Formcentric account and embed the form into the page. Form authors no longer need to copy embed codes, log in multiple times or switch between the various tools.
- Simple form exchange: Forms continue to be created and managed centrally within Formcentric. If you want to place a different form on a page, you simply select that form instead in the CMS. There’s no longer any need to fiddle about with embed codes at the code level.
- Faster workflows for everyone: The editing team works fully independently, without relying on IT tickets. At the same time, developers stop wasting time on routine tasks and manual code embedding work.
Who benefits most from Formcentric Connect?
Formcentric Connect is designed for teams using FirstSpirit as their CMS and Formcentric as their form manager – or who are looking to combine the two in the future. The extension streamlines and accelerates the overall form workflow, as the process becomes fully standardised and simplified for editing teams.
Summary
Successful form embedding really shouldn’t be dependent on IT ticketing or manual copy-and-paste. With Formcentric Connect, the process becomes simple and lightning-fast for editors, who work in their familiar FirstSpirit environment.
